Frequently Asked Questions
- Casement Windows – These are hinged at the side so they open either to the left or the right.
- Sliding Sash Windows – These are sliding windows which are opened upward. They do not open outward or inward.
- Box Sliding Sash Windows – Similar to traditional sliding sash windows but encased in a box. These look more decorative.
- Velux Roof Windows – These are fitted into your roof and are a great way to let in natural light to attics.
The (WER) Window Energy Ratings Scheme rates window energy efficiency on a scale from G through to A+. Many home owners are unaware of this and current regulations require that domestic windows fall within at least band C. This means that many homes are not only left losing energy but also money due to unnecessarily high energy bills. In fact, up to 25% of the heat in British homes escapes through windows.
With our UPVC windows however, you can improve your homes energy efficiency whilst also transforming the interior and exterior of your property at an affordable price. What’s more, our Pilkinton K Glass™ windows also help to reduce internal and external condensation build up. The windows reduce the amount of heat lost whilst also allowing free heat from the sun in.
The Liniar frames of our windows also further increase the energy efficiency of the units and the super slim slightness of the frames also increases the amount of light in your home.
If you have your windows installed at home you probably don’t need to have them cleaned that often. Every 3 to 6 months should be more than enough.
